we have to read three books for the summer. im starting my third book soon. the third book is our choice from a list of five books to read which ones should i read:
Lord of the Flies by William Golding- (1954) British novel set during World War II
Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut- (1952) American novel set in “the near future”
We by Yevgeny Zamyatin- (1921) Russian novel that was the inspiration for many of the others we read
Watchmen by Alan Moore- (1986-7) British graphic novel set in the 1980s (read the novel—watching the
movie instead will make it impossible for you to do the assignment in August)
Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood- (2003) Canadian novel set towards the end of the 21st century
if u would like look up the books i have no idea which ones to pick any suggestions? thanks
I read Lord of the Flies in freshman year and I liked it... it was interesting and you will probably find a lot of sparknotes/cliffnotes/discussions on it.
I would read Watchmen though. Just because I haven't read it yet... and I want to read it. I know many of my friends read it voluntarily and loved it. This was before we even knew the movie was coming out.
Airplane! is 30 . . . surely you can't be serious
WHEN DAVID Zucker was a schoolkid in Milwaukee in the 1960s, one of his teachers made a prediction. “She said to me once, when I was fooling around in class, ‘Zucker, I know one day I’ll be paying good money to see you make me laugh, but right now, get your ass back in that chair and crack that book!’” She was right., writesJOHN PATTERSON
